Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi – Chapter 01

Since we don’t do much anime any more, alta is gonna keep his skills sharp by doing a manga!

It seems the author decided to give her a pretty heavy accent for the volume bonus pages, and then it barely shows up in the normal chapters that released originally. So thankfully she doesn’t talk like she was dropped on her head once you get past the first few pages.

Only read chapter 1 so far, but basically country bumpkin goes to the city expecting something, and gets something else.
Just read it instead!

After redoing some Swap-Swap chapters recently, the amount of detail lost at that res for 4koma was starting to bother me. So for this one I’ve up’d the res to 3k from 1.8k. Larger file sizes, sure, but the art looks a lot better. Spent quite a while doing the colour pages and pretty happy with how they ended up!

I’ll be putting jpgs of the colour pages on Mangadex, cos filesizes of the png are kinda high. The .zip file will have .png in it.

Please guys, just finish Sui Youbi. I liked it and been waiting for about a year to close it.

If you’re bored and looking for a challenge, there’s no one out there subbing Tokyo Encounter anymore 🙂

I second this. Man, that would be nice. I’m an avid fan of Sugita and Nakamura and their antics, so I’ve been loyally watching and following TE for years. The number of awesome seiyuu guests they have is cool, and all the nerdy game banter is great entertainment too. But most importantly, they’re just bloody funny. I watched all the episodes that were translated with subs, and then once that stopped, I started watching the RAWS. At first I understood very little. But then for the last year or so I studied Japanese, and I didn’t get anywhere near as far as I wanted, but at least now I’m somewhere in between a JLPT 4 and a JLPT 3, so I can understand some, but not nearly enough to really enjoy it.

That said, I think translating TE would be really difficult, because it’s not enough to be good at both Japanese and English, you also need to have an almost godlike knowledge of games, particularly old ones, as there are insane amounts of references to nerdy old game shit in the show. Which is probably why it’s so hard for me to understand and enjoy it too, because even if I understand what they’re saying, I have no idea what they’re talking about. Sugita and Nakamura are pretty huge nerds lol. Mad props to whoever translated the first 43 episodes.

Hey, I like the weird Japanese countryside dialects! 😛 I find them charming and endearing. 😛

Ah, yes, the Akita dialect. There was this anime that had a girl with that dialect, don’t remember the name. I haven’t watched it, but I saw a clip of an early scene from it. It was indeed a weird dialect. 😛 It’s so different, I wonder if there are Japanese people that struggle to understand it or not…Anyway, thanks, I’ll keep an eye on this one. I love yuri, after all.
