Sadly most of our translators have deserted us over the past seasons and/or taking breaks from translating, so it’s time to find more translators.
I am looking to recruit a Japanese -> English translator to help me finish some backlog projects, and possibly translate a show for next season.
Experience in fansubbing not required, but proficiency in Japanese is.
Please email me at holo@doki.co if you are interested and then come to #doki-recruits@irc.rizon.net.
what shows exactly do you need help with?
Considering we don’t have that many TLs, they can usually choose what they work on for TV.
what delayed shows need help the most? i’m not very interested in translating ongoing shows, as sticking to a weekly release cycle would probably not work well for me.
Maybe you could help with the backlogged shows… well, I’,m just suggesting.
translation from script or trough listening? >>
Send an e-mail and find out.
You have to be able to do one or the other, Kuro.
aw wish i could help but my Japanese is too weak lol, if you guys ever need a Chinese->English i would love to apply
Finally the backlog gets some love!
I wish i could help you ;(
I wish I could help too, but sadly I can barely even read a japanese visual novel…
I know only the kana and that’s about it…
“but proficiency in Japanese is”
I’m guessing this is recent change in requirement, if your previous releases are anything to go by.
Haha Everybody’s a Comedian
Oh look, a funny guy! -_-
Agree, he comes across more as pathetic than anything else *Shrug*.
Hope Holo has luck with his recruitment stuff anyway lol
Funny indeed. cause I could’ve sworn that this is the requirement Doki had stipulated for quite a long time. Ability to translate is what really matters, really.
He’s just being a jerk and trying to imply that Doki’s releases, and hence their Translators, suck.
for me Doki is one of the best (if not the best) fansub group.
When I prepare a series for archiving, it’s the Doki’s scripts that need the least amount of editing, so I always prefer Doki if it’s available. If it’s available. (I said it twice because it’s important. (thanx, Nyaruko.))
So, get lost, “tell”.
The TL’s must have dissapeared rather suddenly then, huh? I thought you guys had like 7 translators not too long ago. :-/
Seems like it, sad to see that happen again. I remember the last time, it slowed things down to a crawl tv wise π
I, for one, am not going anywhere. Just taking a break from airing after 2 seasons of it.
Ero_Yatsu still works hard \o/
*Brofist!* Gambare Ero_Yatsu! ^^
I only just realized, but, you don’t have an entry on the staff list! : O How come? That’s absurd! Or am I blind?
He had one for ages Rokudaime, he’s on a break now so I assume he was removed for now.
It could be under another nick since I know many members of the staff tend to use 9001 nicks.
Nah, he’s always been Ero Yatsu on the list and on here.
Well, seems like it’s there again O_o
Also the staff list is a mess anyway…
I came back to Doki to TLC 30-sai BDs. I’ve been back for over 8 months and done 2 airing seasons and I’ve only just been put back on the staff list. lol.
Not saying anything about staff that hasn’t done any work in months that is still on the staff list.
Quite a few isn’t there? Perhaps emails/questions should be asked of them if they still want to contribute to the group, and if they don’t remove them from the list.
Apparently no love for hard-working people like you lol. π Joking aside, they probably put you back when they saw my post and realized you hadn’t been put back on the list lol! π And Meneldal and Rawr raise a good point. Lazy stallers not doing any work ought to be removed from the list until they actually start working again.
If anything it’d help to get some delayed shows back on track and if new people need recruiting than Holo can advertise for certain things.
The main point was too make sure the TLs were reliable enough before puting them on airing shows and having them quit (making more delayed shows)
i just sent you an email! π ..
I think I should stop being a lazyfag and finish SYD
We would be grateful if you did.
You’d make everyone’s day by doing that. My appreciation’s in advance.
I would love to help but Im still learning Katakana, and my vocab repetware is limited.
I’ll see if I can toss around a few promos for this.
You are one of the best fansub groups around. It would be a shame to see you go.
Plus, I’m still banking on you guys coming through with the 2nd Nanoha movie just like you did with the first.
We saw those “promos” xD
personnaly i would like to help, though i can only help with any actually spoken lines; i dont know my way around Kanji or Kana at all, but if its just spoken dialogue i could help out allright.
also for the nanoha movie, i am a native german speaker so i could help un-derpily translating the wolkenritters attack names and grammar.
I wish I could help you with translating :/
I only can do TypeSetting and QC … xD
Hey, I had no experience in fansubbing but I’ve watched anime raw and understood 98% of shoujo anime only. I can’t do science related anime but if you need help with shoujo. Please let me know. I would like experience in this field and learn more Japanese. Thank you! I can also do QC π
