    Happy Chinese New Year!! (+Blu-Ray Announcements)

    On behalf of the entire Doki Staff, I wish all Chinese and Vietnamese a joyous Lunar New Year.

    I tried looking for pics appropriate for such an occasion. Obviously posting NSFW pics are definitely inappropriate and also I received complains from people who claim the over ecchi pics put their jobs in jeopardy. So this time round, SFW pics are included.

    As I was saying, I can’t find appropriate pictures relating to the New Year but instead I find many Christmas ones. I guess this shows that Christmas is more marketable? Or is it a reflection of the growing influence of westernisation? In any case, the above two seems close enough, representing fireworks and reunion dinner.

    Anyway, I had nothing better to do. Initially I wanted to post some random updates and complaints but I don’t think anyone is interested. After that, I browsed through the internet aimlessly and F5 Doki’s website like 10 times or so hoping something will pop out (which obviously will not). Subsequently I came across this pic and my inner instincts told me to post this (I relate this to the “it can’t be helped” phenomenon). So ah… enjoy.

    P.S. Don’t get any wrong ideas, we are NOT doing this show.

    P.S.II. About Bungaku Shoujo, I want it out soon as well. I think any tler would want his script to be out as soon as possible. It’s nice to know there are people following this show. The problem at the moment is getting a DVDISO. Searching on Share doesn’t yield any good results which means one thing, it isn’t popular enough to make someone purchase and upload it as soon as it was released. I managed to get a raw and actually wanted to release using it. But then I don’t know, miscommunication happens and it wasn’t released. Monokage released it and I don’t see the point of releasing it now. Regarding the movie, I briefly corrected the scripts. I know that the BDMV is out, but as I am no encoder, this is beyond my limits to predict when it will be released. Kokus, the encoder who encoded the movie using pre-encoded raws, have told me that he will encode it. So yeah that’s about it. I have done my part, what’s left is for the rest to get through. ETA: By end of this year?

    Ryusei – Kobukuro

    “Ryusei” must be one of the best songs I have heard in a while. It is sung by a japanese band (duo) called Kobukuro, consisting of Kobuchi Kentaro and Kuroda Shunsuke. They are a band established in 1998 and made a breakthrough with “Tsubomi” in 2007. They are known to be label mates with Ayaka and collaborated on a few occasions, most notably “Winding Road”. “Ryusei” is one of the long list of singles they have released over the years together with 12 albums.

    Kobukuro have only slightly ventured into the anime industry in recent years. They sung the OP “Summer Rain” for the anime ”Cross Game” in 2009 where Ayaka accompanied with her ED1. More recently, they sung the OP for Bakuman which is airing now titled “Blue Bird”.

    “Ryusei” was released on November 17, 2010 (today) and is the OP for a drama series called Nagareboshi currently airing on fujitv on monday nights in Japan. That was how I got to know of the song. Nagareboshi is actually quite good. It managed to keep me watching and currently it’s at episode 5 and ongoing. I’m not sure if there are any english subs for it as english drama fansubs are painfully slow and few in numbers unlike animes. So you guys should be thankful. 

    I have been eagerly anticipating this single to be released. I think people who like romantic ballads will like Ryusei. I actually took some time to translate the entire song. These are done using the official lyrics with reference to some fan made translations on the web. No torrent since it’s only 21MB.

    Gigson – Yuko Goto

    So it was released on Perfect Dark today. Anyway, i’m too lazy to sticky the other post so pardon me using a new post. In any case, I think this isn’t exactly directly related to Campanella OST, so putting it under there actually does it no justice.

    The full AMELIA can be found in this forth studio album by Yuko Goto.  It’s 4 mins 56 secs long. The entire track listing of Gigson can be found here.

    Interesting fact about Yuko Goto I gathered is that she is very unlike the moe character she usually voices on animes. She has an interest in biker culture and devotes much of the time to her bike. So well… can’t judge a book by its cover eh? Talk about her roles in animes, the only ones I can remember are Hikari in Special A and Kaede in Shuffle! Oh well…
